About Joe
Joe Whitehead holds a double degree in Law and Commerce (Economics Major) from Griffith University. Before being admitted as a solicitor in 2016, Joe built a successful career in hospitality, working as both a chef and in management roles, giving him strong commercial insight and a practical, people-focused approach to problem solving.
Born on Bougainville Island in Papua New Guinea, Joe moved to Australia at a young age and later spent a decade living in Switzerland before returning to Australia in 2010.
Joe was drawn to Family Law through his own personal experiences, which gave him a genuine understanding of the emotional and financial pressures people face during separation. He is passionate about helping clients navigate difficult situations with empathy, honesty, and clear communication. Joe believes that maintaining respectful and constructive dialogue between separating parties often leads to better outcomes and reduces the emotional and financial cost of litigation.
Joe joined Acute Family Law and Mediation bringing with him valuable business acumen, extensive experience in Family Law, and advocacy work within the Domestic Violence Courts. He is committed to providing practical, compassionate, and outcome-focused legal support to his clients.
Outside of work, Joe enjoys cycling along the coastal paths of the Gold Coast, gardening, and spending time with his family. Recently becoming a grandfather has been one of his greatest joys, and he treasures every opportunity to spend time with his grandson.
